I also take fish oil capsuls and it works. I saw improvements in my skin in just one week i take them twice a day, drink lots of water and use cetaphil cleanser and my skin looks just the way i want it to. Being a guy i never thought acne was a big problem until it got really bad. and i mean really bad. marks, pimples and all, it was so horrible. You just got to eat healthy, drink a lot of water and u will see major improvement in your skin.

I use Cetaphil, a facial cleanser, and it really helped clean my pores. That way the medication i was taking really kicked in. However, i still have some acne and i am still frustrated. Oh well.

there are so many out there that you really just have to sample and test the ones you think might work for you. everyone’s skin is different and will react to different products in different ways. I like sticking to natural products but I have many girlfriends with great skin who just go to the local pharmacy and buy things there. sorry I couldn’t help more

i don’t have severe acne or a lot of acne scars, but i want to take a bit more care of my skin than i am doing right now, so are there any specific moisturizers/cleansers/treatments that you would recommend?

your local health food store will have it or order it online (I like the lilly of the desert brand because it’s 99% aloe vera) other brands like JASON contain additives

where can u get aloe vera juice from? cos i’ve never bought it.

lemon and toothpaste work for zits because of their disinfectant properties which kills the bacteria in pimples. For scars however, I don’t think it would do very much. You need something that promotes the healing process, which is why i suggested using a natural exfoliating cleanser (try baking soda- just a small coin size amount mix with a small amount of water in your hand and exfoliate your face with it- do this after cleansing and then apply a rich moisturizer like shae butter)

erm my acne isnt very severe, i got light scars on my face, but i just want to get rid of them, wat would u say to toothpaste and lemon, do they actually work? cos i heard many people saying that.

Acne scars, depending on how much skin damage has taken place can be very hard to get rid of. Microdermabrasion seems to work for many people although it can be pricey. If you go to a cosmetic dermatologist or medical spa you can get laser treatments done to reduce scarring. Chemical peels also work for scarring. If the scarring isn’t very severe, simple things like using an exfoliating cleanser and nourishing moisturizer may help

Hey thanks for posting your question. cetaphil contains detergents and parabens which for some people can be extremely irritating and may cause a lot of drying and redness which is something you don’t want. That doesn’t mean it won’t work- I would only suggest using the cleanser if you want to use that product line. otherwise you can get a cleaner that contains something like tea tree oil which you can get at a health food store (read the ingredients and make sure it’s pure and gentle)
