Pimples Home Remedies and Treatment Tips

Pimple is a result of a blockage of the skin’s pore. Most teenagers get the type of acne called acne vulgaris, which can show up on the face, neck, shoulders, back, and chest. Skin pores contain oil glands which naturally lubricate your skin and hair. When the outer layers of skin shed (as it does continuously), the dead skin cells left behind may become ‘glued’ together by the sticky sebum. This causes a blockage in the pore, especially when the skin becomes thicker at puberty. The sebaceous glands produce more sebum which builds up behind the blockage, and this sebum harbours various bacteria including the species Propionibacterium acnes. Since the body’s natural defence against bacteria is primarily phagocytes (white blood cells), these rush to the site behind the blockage (where the bacteria are). Most people affected by acne are aged between 12 and 25. However, men and women in their 30s and 40s can also suffer.

Pimple is caused by the overactivity of the sebaceous glands that secrete oily substances onto the skin. The sebaceous glands of people with acne are especially sensitive to normal blood levels of a hormone called testosterone, found naturally in both men and women.Testosterone in people prone to acne triggers the sebaceous glands to produce an excess of sebum. At the same time, the dead skin cells lining the openings of the hair follicles (the tubes that hold the hair) are not shed properly and clog up the follicles. These two effects combined cause a build-up of oil in the hair follicles. This causes blackheads and whiteheads to form. For some people, their acne does not progress beyond this stage. However in other people, the build-up of oil in the hair follicles creates an ideal environment for a bacterium called Propionibacterium acnes to grow.

Using Home Pimple Remedies

One of the best and most practical home pimple remedies is to take a vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) supplement using a dosage of no more than 1 gram a day. Vitamin B5 prevents fat secretions from traveling through your sebaceous glands and makes your pores smaller.

Make sure you consult with your doctor before putting anything inside your body because it’s possible to harm yourself by taking high doses of vitamins. You can get extra vitamin B5 in your diet by eating whole grains, meats, eggs, and several other foods.

One of the quickest home pimple remedies that’s very effective on minor pimple outbreaks is through the use regular toothpaste. Grab a Q-tip, place a little bit of toothpaste on the end, and apply gently on each pimple. Wait till they dry completely, then you’re in the clear to go to sleep. Be careful though! In the morning you may be shocked to find the pimples are disappearing!

Cleaning affected areas with regular oatmeal is also one of the most effective home remedies for pimples, especially on the face. Take a half cup of oatmeal and mix it with warm water in a cup. Rub your face with the oatmeal and water mix softly, then rinse your face with warm water.

Here’s the best of pimple remedies I’ve always counted on; and yes – I saved the best for last. Garlic acts like a topical antibiotic to combat pimples. All you have to do is take a head of garlic and while using a garlic press, put the pressed garlic into a cup. Spread it liberally on your affected areas and leave on for 15 minutes before rinsing.

By using the garlic pimple remedy you just might never have to visit a doctor for an acne problem!

Basically, anything that does not involve prescription medicine or surgery and can be safely utilized without medical supervision is considered a home remedy.

Steam your face- This opens up the pores. wash your face with a mild soap to preserve the needed oils for your facial skin. Wash your face with cold water as this will close the open pores, otherwise the dirt will enter into your skin thereby damaging it badly.

Alternatively, even a paste of one teaspoon of coriander juice with turmeric powder can be applied on the face for pimples treatment.

Applying a paste of honey mixed with cinnamon powder on the pimples at bedtime and rinsing it off next morning with lukewarm water will keep pimples away for a long time.

The combination of improved diet and fitness will help cleanse the junk out of your system; candy, greasy foods, and other crap your body doesn’t really need. And the replacing of this on the inside with healthier foods and beverages will help clean up your digestive and other bodily systems. Add regular exercise to help with circulation and other system enhancement and B.I.N.G.O., you’ve got a winning combination in home remedies for pimples.

Cucumber is recommended one of the most excellent cures for pimples. Apply a juice of cucumber on your facial areas for 15 minutes each day. You will find some astonishing results. Carry on this practice for one month.

Break two eggs in a pot. Leave a yolk of these 2 eggs, and remain whites of eggs in the vessel. Apply it over your acne affected areas of skin, leave it for 30 minutes, and then rinse off completely. Your pimples and redness should see improvement after a few days.

You must think I am crazy, but listen to this. If toothpaste is used to clean bacteria on your teeth, why can’t it be used to get rid of bacteria on your skin? Simple point. Don’t worry, it has worked for thousands who tried it. Do not try this if you have sensitive skin.

This is one of the fastest overnight home remedies to get rid of pimples! Apply the toothpaste on the infected area and leave it dry for 15 minutes. Once it dries off, wash your face and PAT it off with a towel. Do Not Rub.

Fruits can be used as a natural exfoliant and are also fight acne by eating them. Using a 1/4-1/2 cup of pineapple put in blender with small bit of lemon juice. Smooth evenly on your face and let sit for 10-15 minutes then rinse with cold water. This will make your face glow as well.

Acne Lemon Juice: You can either apply lemon juice onto your skin or drink it. Both will help you reduce blemishes and scars externally and internally. I have tried both applications of lemon juice and can confirm that my pimples was greatly reduced within 3 weeks.
